HERO 6

HERO 6 is the most versatile and widely used cobalt based hardfacing alloy. Exhibiting excellent resistance to chemical and mechanical wear over a broad temperature range, HERO 6 is the number one choice for hardfacing valve seats and gates, bearings and food processing equipment. High temperature hardness and excellent wear resistance, combined with outstanding self-mated anti-galling properties makes this alloy the true hero of our cobalt line.

APPLICATIONS

High temperature & pressure valve seats and gates, pump shafts & sleeves, bearings, erosion shields, rolling couplings, hot cutting and rotary knives, extrusion screws and engine valves.

TECHNICAL

- Bonds well to all weldable steels and stainless

- Corrodes mainly by a pitting mechanism and not by general mass loss in seawater and chloride solutions. The typical electrode potential in sea water at room temperature is approximately -0.25 V (SCE). Its mass loss in sea water is below 0.05mm per year at 22 oC.
